There was one the exact same color on the Buick used car lot in Santa Barbara in the mid 1970s that was immaculate and also a 4-speed. It was easily as nice as brand new. I would have loved to own...

Why not keep looking for a set of nicer unrestored bars to stay with the theme? You are only interested in this style? Second question, what is the presumed benefit of unequal length traction bars?

I would rather have a 427 over a 454 any day of the week. For me personally, a 454 in a '69 Camaro over a 427 is not a plus.

Mitch, if yours were originally painted then you did the right thing. Sometimes they were not and I'm not sure that it has been determined if there was a pattern as to when either occurred.
