The only thing I can add to this thread - i once saw a 68 Camaro that had lost or had stolen its VIN plate, and the DMV put a new VIN on the car on the driver door pillar as you have shown, and of course the rivot holes had to be spaced further apart to accommodate the VIN.

The Ash Gold 427/425 M40 was listed in a few Yenko Ads including bottom of this one below.

That could be another 68 Yenko 427 TH400

That April 68 newspaper ad listed the car as 410hp

The Sep 68 Yenko ad listed the gold car as 425hp

the 1967 Yenko 427 TH400 cars were listed as 410hp
