I think the color hurt quite a bit. The majority of the original 39 cars were red; and that is what most are used to seeing. But, they look amazing in Silver as well. I believe there is at least one that has been silver from day one. I also believe the silver one brought north of $70m, but it was a private sale, so no auction results to review. That also means that one can never be certain that the reported price was the actual selling price. Seems funny to me that we are discussing a car that "only" brought $38m!!! I fully understand the pre auction estimates based on prior reported sales. But like Stefano said, not a huge segment of the population even able to consider bidding on such a car. The ones that can would much prefer one in the iconic red. Even had it brought $70m, I don't know that would eclipse the value of EVERY car at MCACN 2025. There were some spectacular rides.
