Good thing there's a full '66 chassis available on BaT, from another 66 George sold on there earlier. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...vette-chassis/

That is, by far, the rustiest midyear I have seen.

I'm surprised it's a reserve auction. Seems like there is some optimism in the auction commentary, but I can't see any way restoring that car makes sense.

Looks like it was stored at the bottom of Lake Erie for 40 years.

I think it was closer to the Atlantic in the Saint Lawrence Seaway and had some salt water mixed in to rust out that bad. Probably sat in a humid, concrete building for those 40 hears. I'm thinking the engine is seized too.
The body alone may worth some coin, but my bid is $10,000.

And there it is...concrete block building and looks like the walls are surrounded by dirt. Perfect incubator for the rust.
I wonder how bad the 328 was.

I was offered the car for $40k. The trim tag damage was not described to me but the seller did share that the frame and all suspension components were wasted. Such a shame. We love white/red and original motor L72 Converts are not common. Pipes are added.

Park it in a pool of Evapo-Rust. JK.

Darn shame as it used to be beautiful ‘66 Vette decades ago.

Lift the body with interior intact and make it a wall art.
