Default Mecum !970 Nova SS L78

Was at the Mecum auction yesterday and the Cortez Silver L78 Nova went for $46,500.00. I was really surprised it went that low as it did have Canadian documentation (which I looked at in a folder). Even with the 10% buyers fee I feel the guy got a great buy. Seemed like the prices were all over the place and if the guy really needs to sell his car you could be at the right place at the right time. I believe the car was from the Gary Holub collection out of Iowa. He also had some yenko camaro's there. Auctioneer said the reserve for the NOva was $125,000.00 but released the reserve at about $45K. This was my 3rd Mecum and a real treat for a muscle car nut. But at 51K for a beautiful L78 Nova you wonder if the market will go any lower? I guess with the economy who knows.

Novas are underrated and low on the food chain thats all. Its amazing the difference (price wise) between a Deuce or a Gibb nova compared to the rest of them. Hey, good time to buy one!

No Rob

I was leaving right after the nova sold to drive back home. And they probably won't post it on Mecum site. I did see the ZL1 camaro go for 800K and took a picture on my Iphone to prove it to my wife. She said in your dreams.

I thought the Nova brought pretty decent money.. it was and automatic and that is a big factor in price on High Horse car I think.. I bet if it was a 4 speed it would have done much more..JMO

You got that right, As I have always stated the Novas are the "Bastard Stepchildren" of the Chevy Family.. Everyone wants the Chevelles or Camaros.. But that makes them just that more cool I think!!
