Little over an hour left on this thing. It'll make a great car for someone to restore but I'd love to see it turned in to a Pure Stock terror. I'm almost amazed at the how many people doubt its authenticity even with bullet-proof documentation. I'll miss it and know I'll probably never find another but I really want to put something really fast together again.

ROCK & ROLL BABY! Amazing cars.
Back in 1971 I lost my job and had to sell my 69 Camaro 350.Paid off my loan and had $1100 left to buy my next car.A guy down the street had a black on black L79 bench seat 4 speed. Not an SS but it had all the chrome trim and dog dish caps. The car was dead stock except for a set of dumps. It ran 14.1s with street tires.I forget the class back then.Something like D stock.I ran against 350/300 Novas,340 Cudas and 327/275 66 Novas.I never had any problem with those cars.Actually the toughfest car in my class was a SC 360 Hornet.I knew I was cheating.I put the car down as a 350/300 HP.I always tried to roll into tech with the motor off as the cam was a dead give away to the tech guys.Back then I hung around Harveys in Toronto.A local guy named "Skinney Jim" had a yellow L79 Nova.He added the Z28 cam,intake,780 Holley,4:56 gears and Hooker Headers. That car was almost unbeatable on the street with slicks. Many a 440 Mopar went home early after running that car.Great memories.
Someone get me a Hendrix tape!I need to pull some gears!

Thanks for sharing. I love them old war stories. Something about those old 327's that make them think that they're bigger than they really are! Hard motors to hurt also because of their beautiful 1.75 rod/stroke ratio. Car sold within one minute after the auction ended but you're making me miss it already.
