Default Powerslide transmission...whats it from/worth?

Ok, I KNOW it's called a powerglide, not slide..but every PG I've ever come in contact ends up being a power SLIDE not long after I meet it.

This is an aluminum case PG, that as far as I can tell so far, just has POWERGLIDE on the side. It's very old, but was rebuilt 4 years ago, put into a 55 chevy, and run for 3k miles behind a 406SBC then pulled when the car was sold. I bought it, with plans of putting it in the 63 Impala I had, but opted for a TH350 .

Where will I find casting numbers and what not to find out what this trans came from originally? Also, what would this thing be worth? It was rebuilt while in the hands of a very close friend of the family, but I have no proof that it was ever rebuilt. Any info would be oh so very helpful! Thanks guys.

Assembly code is stamped on the side of the transmission pan. Will at least tell you what year it was built in. There may be a partial VIN stamped on the top of the bellhousing at about the 1 oclock position looking into the bellhousing from the front.

# on the tailshaft housing...3863192. That is the onl;y number I can find other than some patent info above the cast in POWERGLIDE.

The tail shaft is from a 65-67 Powerglide. Look for the date casting, on the right side of the oil pan. There should be a code similar to 5T 11 16 N which means,5T= for 1965, Toledo which made automatics for 327 and larger motors, 11-16 is November 16,N is night shift. If a "C" code is there then the trans was made in Cleveland and was for only 283 motored cars.
