Anybody have any info on Luci Chevrolet in Vineland, NJ. The dealership no longer exists but was located near a local drag strip.

			Greetings from Vineland!

I have heard the name "Luci", but I am not sure which piece of real-estate it used to occupy The track you refer to is no longer there either...well most of it...what's left is now woods. I believe Rt.55 dissects it as well as the local community college ( As far as I've heard it was not a drag strip, but rather an oval type track) I talked with a guy (more than a few years ago) who used to race his bug-eyed sprite there in the 60's. I'll ask around for more info about Luci.

Prior to being Luci Chevrolet, it was called Yank Chevrolet I think this change was in the late 60's, as a fellow I used to work with told me about buying a 66-67 SS396 new at Yank when he returned home from Vietnam. I was told that sometime in the 80's Luci became RK Chevrolet, which is still opperating on site today at Delsea Drive and Almond Road, but is more than a few miles north of where the old Vineland Speedway was located. By the way, I have heard from more than a few people that don't like dealing with some of the folks at RK

			Hello from Vineland, NJ.

Luci Chevrolet is now RK Chevrolet. It's located at the corner of Almond Rd and Delsea Drive (Rt. 47) in Vineland, NJ. During the 60's era, it was called Yank Chevrolet. I have a '65 Nova SS with an original Yank Chevrolet Emblem on it. |

It was in fact an oval track, but was also used as a drag strip. I very good friend of mine was the flag boy during the late 50's and early 60's. There are still ruins of the original track and grandstands. Most of it became a trailer park.
