I Am not a big fan of Fords but when they brought back the t- bird it still had the same lines Now the 05 Mustang looks really good and has the same lines of a 64 stang why can t pontaic do the same with the GTO

I can't remember what site I read it on but I recall that the Pontiac design group specifically did not want a retro look for the GTO.

Frankly for a while I have been wishing that Chevrolet would bring back the Camaro designed with the retro look of a 69. IMO Ford has got it right. I like the Stang.
