Rick,
I just went to your site with the pix of your car !! That thing is AWESOME !!! It has Pure Stock Drags written ALL over it !!! Can't Rob or Tom talk you into running it ?? The interior combo is gorgeous !!! I'm sorry I didn't notice it sooner .... geesh ! LS-6's are great, but that is one neat combination of a car !! |

Casey:
You are dead on about Rick's Chevelle. I check out his page about once a week, and have done so since he registered. Same pictures, same car, but WOW...! When I had my LS-6, I always wished that it had red interior, versus the black. I agree with you about it looking ready for the Pure Stock Drags...notice how low it sets? If I had to guess, I would say original springs, and with that ride height, it GREATLY helps to eliminate wheel hop. And believe me, A-bodies LOVE to wheel hop! So, Rick...see you in Stanton |

Thanks guys!
I would have loved to attend this years PSMCDR in Michigan. It's just a stones throw from me here in the Western Chicago burbs..But other plans persist. It is in the Future though.(Steven J you're bringing you LS-6 with me.) You are correct on the springs. We grew up with cars raised in the rear, and I was guilty myself,so during resto I made sure that thing sat right!I was very pleased with the outcome. I too was drawn to it being a Red interior car.I didn't want another Red/Black 70 Chevelle. But this engine and color combo spoke to me like none other. She's a Keeper. And I stole it out from under Rob in his own home state! |

Man Rick, that is one sweet Chevelle. I've always been partial to the '70 and '71 models, as yourself. I came close to buying one in Dallas back in '96. It had the same color combination, but had a 454 LS5. The car needed a lot of TLC, so I tried to get the seller to agree to a lower price. He said he'd think about it for the weekend. He called me a few days later, telling me he'd take nearly 30% less. "So what's the deal," I said. Turns out he took the Velle out for a last drive and ended up hitting a tree and catching it on fire.
