I remember going by the local Chevy dealer to see about ordering a new Z06 a couple years ago. They wanted $40k over sticker. Apparently a lot of folks paid that, or something similar.
Well, after the ZR1 was introduced, used Z06 models began to flood the market. Seems as if there are a lot of guys that just MUST have the latest and greatest (i.e. most HP) Corvette model; and it also seems they are willing to take quite the haircut on their Z06 just to get to the ZR1. Now, Chevy ups the ante AGAIN. The ZR1X has 1250 HP!!!! https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a7...-test-results/ I am considering getting a used low mile Z06 as soon as I can unload some of my current cars. I really don’t have anything to prove, and figure 670 hp will provide plenty of bang for the buck. At $105k to $120k (depending on options) they really look like an incredible bargain to me. I don’t need the highest HP model. Now, just for the sake of discussion, do you guys think the used ZR1 market will be affected in the same way the Z06 market was affected? Not that it matters to me. At my age, I would be more than satisfied with a Z06.

They're going to make as many of them as people will buy, so the "market adjustment" will only last until the people needing to be the first to get it have theirs. I'd expect them to be at MSRP within a year if they can build them fast enough to catch up to demand.
I've been watching the market on Z06s, eRays, and Z51 base models but waiting for the Grand Sport release before I make any decisions. Rumors are that the Grand Sport will be offered in a manual. |

Crazy to think that the new naturally aspirated 670hp Z06 eclipses the Blue Devil’s supercharged 638hp of a dozen years ago!
