I thought I remember seeing a thread on this subject, but I can't find it. I am putting together my NOS glove box liner and it just so happens the GM parts label is on the inside of the box. Does anyone know of a product that would remove this label without damaging the glove box liner.

Steam may be the best option here but that's just a guess.

I have Used a 1000 watt hair dryer for this purpose
Careful & slow. Goal is to get the glue to soften and you might still have a ghost of residue but it should work.

I’m trying to think what the sign shop used, I think it was xylol, you would just put it on the label, I’ll bet the glue will leave a mark.
Lighter fluid may work, put just on the label,

I Picked up a decal scraper, plastic blade, it may help getting it started. You can scrape a decal off of something plastic, but it may harm the cardboard.

The NOS glove box liner will not stand up to any type of scraper. I am going to try to soften up the label to remove it and then deal with the glue residue.

If you get the sticker removed,I wouldn't recommend using anything oil based to try to remove the residue,(if there is any),as it will soak in & stain that exact spot on the soft cardboard and then be darker.
Rubbing Alcohol on a Q-tip is all I would try to see if it removes the residue,if not leave it be. |

The label is at the top of liner correct?
I would leave it alone and let it fall off naturally the remove the glue residue with isopropyl alcohol gently. |

I wish the label was on the outside of the box or else I would leave it alone. The label is on the inside of the glove box liner.
