Looking to source a winter tire and wheel combo for our 2013 Impala. Factory tires are 225/60 R16...
Nothing fancy...just plain wheels and a decent winter tire. We used to use Discount Tire Direct but they have been bought by Tire Rack. Let me know who you folks use... Thanks, wilma

Isn't that the other way around ?? I thought Discount bought Tire Rack ??? I bought a lot of tires from Discount too and had them shipped to a local warehouse where I picked them up at a $10/tire discount. Now they come from Tire Rack, but the warehouse is still a Discount business... I've bought 3 sets in the last 4 years.
Market Place can be your friend for wheels. Just buy the tires from Tire Rack...

Extra sets of wheels are usually pretty easy to find on Marketplace.
For tires, I've bought Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 for my last 4 sets. I like the Blizzak better on ice than any other snow tires I've used. I also really liked the Hankook iPike but seems to be not made in the sizes I need anymore. General Altimax was pretty good. Firestone Winterforce was good in snow but not great on ice. Falken Eurowinter was not very good. Goodyear UltraGrip was absolutely terrible, and not much better than an all-season. I've tried a bunch of them, and keep going back to the Blizzak. |

I've had Champions for several years. Very close pattern to a Blizzak and have been great. The price point is quite a bit lower too.
I started with Blizzaks' 20 years ago, but they kept raising the price to where it got to be too much, with other brands providing just as good performance for less.

We have been using Blizzaks on my wife's 2015 SS Sports Sedan daily driver. Bought as a package from Tire Rack. They road force balance them and ship ready to bolt on with TPMS sensors and everything.

Had Blizzaks too, they were awesome. They don’t last long , soft tire.

I’ve used both Michelin X-Ice and Blizzaks and prefer the Michelins.
