Hi Friends,
I have this original GM simulated walnut wood steering wheel available. This wheel version was standard equipment on 1967 - 1968 Corvettes and was optional on Camaros, Chevelles, Novas, Corvairs, and Chevrolet fullsize models, Impalas... I understand it was also optional on some Buick and Olds models. Has a 16 inch diameter and 4 inch depth / offset. It is in very nice and presentable original condition as shown. It has one noticeable flaw; a crack at 3 o'clock which, if you're holding the wheel while driving like you were taught, your right thumb covers it nicely. Several photos of the same crack - there's just the one. The simulated woodgrain has great grain texture, vibrant coloring, and presents very well. And if you've ever had a repop wheel against a genuine one, you know the difference is stark. This one is genuine as leather. There are some expected light scuffs and scratches, what I would certainly consider just general wear and tear from the last 50 or so years of use. The two piece stainless spokes are also very nice and presentable as shown. This survivor type (IMHO) wheel would be a great option to add to any car or to replace a lesser condition unit. Use as is or clean it up a bit - it is as found. Many photos below for the whole picture... Cheers all, Anthony |
