“When I was 7 years old my father surprised me on my birthday with a 1982 Suzuki JR50. I enjoyed it for a short time as I outgrew it quickly. I upgraded to a larger dirt bike and I started racing motocross in the New England Sports Committee (NESC) until I was 16 years old. To this day I'm a huge motocross enthusiast. I also still own my all original 1982 Suzuki JR50 after 42 years! It's proudly displayed in the MS CLASSIC CARS showroom on a pedestal.” – Marc Schiliro

This handsome 1981 Suzuki JR50 Motocross Motorcycle was restored to show quality standards. The Suzuki JR50 was launched in 1978 and was designed for children ages 5 to 12. It has been used for both racing and recreational riding. The JR50's engine was later used in the ALT50 and LT50 ATV's. The Suzuki JR50 has created many great memories for the youth and admired by many. This example was purchased by MS CLASSIC CARS in July of 2023 and May of 2024 is the first time it's been listed for sale.

This example was the product of a complete restoration which is evident in its overall condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Unfortunately, there is no documentation to support when the restoration was completed but it appears somewhat fresh. During the restoration a few things were done to slightly change the factory original appearance for a 1981 model year. Those changes include the sticker on the fuel tank, square front number plate, white background on number plates and the blue seat. The new owner could easily change these items back if desired.

The original frame was stripped, prepped and repainted black. The original serial number is still legible. The 49cc two-stroke engine appears to have been rebuilt and repainted black. The cylinder head was repainted silver. The engine is oil injected which provides optimum lubrication and oil level window which makes it easy to see when a refill is needed. The engine is fed with a Mikuni carburetor with choke for cold starting. The engine runs and sounds awesome out the new Suzuki Krizman Spark Arrester model #KS-250 exhaust. The engine is paired with a single-speed automatic transmission.

The original handle bars were repainted black and the original brake lever was used. It was outfitted with new grips, kill switch and brake cables. The original front forks and wheel hub was repainted black. The original height adjustable rear suspension springs were repainted black. The kick starter, foot pegs and gear shifter have natural finish. The drum brakes stop as they should. It rolls on new 10” chrome wheels that are wrapped with new Cheng Shin 2.50-10 tires.

The metal fuel tank was repainted yellow and a Suzuki decal was applied. The fuel tank has the original cap. It was outfitted with a new front number plate, front fender, rear fender and side covers. White decals were applied.

This 1981 Suzuki JR50 runs and operates excellent.
This will be a great addition to any collection.
