1967 Camaro disk brakes pedal
Any help would be appreciated. Did 1967 Camaro’s with power disk brakes and automatic transmission and deluxe interior have the rubber brake pad with the “disk brakes” stainless medallion in the center or just a plain rubber pad with the stainless surround trim. I thought the medallion started in 1968? Thank you

The part numbers of the 1st gen Camaro pads with disc medallions are 3930089 (manual) and 3930091 (automatic).
Likewise for Chevelles -- 3934000 (manual) and 3934002 (automatic). (Most people don't realize that the 1st gen Chevelle and Camaro pedal pads were NOT the same. All the Chevelle repro vendors are actually selling Camaro pads.) Part numbers beginning with 393 did not exist during the 1967 model year. However, all four of the above part numbers are in the Chevrolet parts books dated November 1967. Seems odd they would list them for service parts near the beginning of the 1968 model year if they were not actually used until March of 68. I'm not disputing the judging manual, just pointing out what that the parts books say.

My 04D 1967 Camaro as found parked since the early 80s does not have the medallion in the middle. Factory Z23 interior decor/ power disc car. Found with original 8515 booster still attached, I also have original window sticker. I also attached a photo of the car in the late 70s. You can just see a portion of the pedal trim.
Interestingly my car has a few quirks like no carpet guard and the original 2 piece clutch boot was still attached. Hope this helps Last edited by jbtech; 12-05-2023 at 05:15 AM. |
