1965 Oldsmobile 442
Available now is this gorgeous 1965 Oldsmobile 442. Originally from Texas where it was stored in 1971 with a blown engine, the car still wears its assembly line sheet metal, glass, bright work that has been re-chromed or polished and features an NOS tail panel. Clearly visible on the trim tag is the “4V” code designating a genuine 442.
The driveline consists of a bulletproof 455 Olds engine designed and built by AKS Custom Engines. Behind that is a TH400 with ATI components and a 9” rear with 4.10 gears, race axles and internals. The entire suspension was engineered by AutoFab using only the best of parts and most were powder coated or plated. Wilwood disc brakes are on all four corners. New plumbing and electricals from front to rear complete the drive and power train. The body and paint are second to none! Finished in Burgundy Mist, the panels are laser-straight. This car has never seen rust! The fit, finish, and gaps are superior—especially when compared to new. The interior is likewise better than new and has been completely refurbished using Legendary products throughout. This 442 is a proven winner. It is deadly consistent finishing first in many East Coast nostalgia events and capturing the prestigious 422 Allstar Nostalgia Super Stock Series Championship with engine-builder Aaron Shipley (AKS Custom Engines) at the wheel. The car can be configured for many classes: Nostalgia Stock/Super Stock, NHRA Stock or Super Stock (an original ‘65 400 is available), or foot brake bracket racing. With little effort, it could be returned to street and/or show without even changing the power or drive train. As depicted, “The Texan” is a throwback to the glory days of franchised dealership owned/sponsored race cars that were campaigned to promote and boost sales of performance-oriented vehicles. The vinyl lettering can be removed with no harm whatsoever to the beautiful paint should the new owner choose to do so. Current race set-up yields easy 11.00 @ 120mph on a conservative tune shifted at 5400rpm. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a true iconic muscle car at a fraction of the build cost. It is a chance to obtain a turn-key, fully sorted race car than can be in the Winner’s Circle time after time. The sellers are thinning their collection and will gladly meet the new owner at a local track to demonstrate the car’s consistency and reliability. Offered at $38,500 with fresh service and fluids. Transportation possible. Please PM me for any additional info, pictures or to discuss. May also call Dave 410-206-9427.
