'67 Chevelle SS396, 325hp 4-speed, Cool Color Combo
Can't say I have ever seen blue-on-blue with a Fawn vinyl top. I love it....
The ancient tires make me believe this one has been stored for years. I'd check it out if I were local - love older restorations. Link to 1967 Chevelle SS396 auction |

Buildings and houses with vinyl or brick, no stucco. Low pitched roofs. No curbs in the streets, but mostly, it's the landscape and trees. I wouldn't send that guy any dinero.

It does look like mostly pine trees in the back ground. Odd

Apparently the drive train (engine, transmission and rear end) are all original to the car.

Tropical Turquoise with Turquoise interior. Fawn Top. L6 Fremont Assembly built car!
As with any car on eBay or Craig's list Could be listed as being in one state but may be represented by a broker in another. Current Seller may be using pics from the person he purchased it from too. Easier to call and just ask than guess. Nice driver quality car. Although I'm not big on changing original equipment. I'd probably spring for a WHITE top over the factory Fawn. |

The seller is trying to dupe someone out of $20,000, but will tell the truth over the phone if you just call? Doubt you'll see positive feedback by the buyer, for this Chevelle.

I had asked the seller during the auction, through e-Bay, whether the drive train was original and was assured it was. I received an e-mail from e-Bay warning me about this seller. Obviously something is up.
Unfortunately these types of transactions put a very bad spin on our hobby. I am not sure how this car was purchased but hopefully there was some sort of buyer protection in place. E-mail Received: Dear 68 DANA, Our records show that you recently received an email from roynhawaii through the Ask Seller a Question or Contact eBay Member features. This email may be fraudulent and an attempt to do one of the following: - Obtain your eBay password - Gain access to your eBay account - Use your eBay account for fraudulent activity - Set up an outside-of-eBay transaction which may be fraudulent This kind of email is often called a "phish" or "phishing attempt," and the people who send them are known as "phishers." Phishers use these methods to try to get your personal information, such as user names, passwords and credit card details. Because the emails may sometimes come through the eBay system, the phisher may seem to be trustworthy and have a good reason to contact you. ***Important - Protect Your Personal Information*** - Don't reply to the sender either through the eBay system or your personal email account. - If you think you may have entered personal information such as your password, Social Security Number, or credit card information into a website based on a request from a phishing email, you need to act *immediately* to protect yourself from identity theft. For detailed instructions about the steps to take, please go to: http://pages.ebay.ca/help/confidence...ity-theft.html ***What to Do If You have Already Sent an Item or Payment*** If you sold or bought an item, contact the carrier used to ship the item. You might be able to receive additional assistance from the shipping service. Depending on the service you used please go to: Canadapost: http://www.canadapost.ca United States Post Office (USPS): http://www.usps.com/welcome.htm United Parcel Service (UPS): http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/index.jsx Federal Express (FedEx): http://www.fedex.com/us/customer/claims Contact law enforcement - Contact law enforcement in your area as well as the area where the seller resides. To file a report with the Canadian RCMP, see the following Web page: https://www.recol.ca/intro.aspx?lang=en or visit the main RCMP Web site at: http://www.rcmp.ca/index_e.htm For U.S. law enforcement, please refer to: http://www.usacops.com When you contact a law enforcement officer, please explain the following: - eBay will be happy to help with the officer's investigation. - For more information on how the officer can contact eBay, go to: http://pages.ebay.ca/securitycentre/...forcement.html ***Additional Account Safety Tips*** To protect your email and your eBay account, we recommend that you always follow these safety tips: - Do *not* respond to the sender either through the eBay system or your email account. An offer to buy or sell an item outside of eBay is against eBay policies, might be fraudulent, and will not be covered by eBay protection programs. - If you received what appears to be a Second Chance Offer for an item that you recently bid on, check My Messages to make sure the offer is legitimate. Second Chance Offers appear in My Messages with a blue background and a subject stating, "eBay Second Chance Offer for Item...." - If you receive a Second Chance Offer directly in your personal email and it is not in My Messages, that means it is not a legitimate offer. - If a Second Chance Offer appears in My Messages with a subject line of "Message from eBay Member," it is not a legitimate offer. Before responding to a Second Chance Offer, make sure it contains both the blue background in My Messages and the subject line of "eBay Second Chance Offer for Item…" - Never pay for an item you have bought on eBay by using instant cash or wire transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram. These payment methods are unsafe on eBay. It's against the eBay Accepted Payments policy for a seller to request payment using these methods. For more information about payments that are accepted on eBay, please go to: http://pages.ebay.ca/help/policies/a...ts-policy.html Sincerely, eBay Trust & Safety Last edited by 68 DANA; 01-29-2019 at 02:55 AM.
