Looking for advice on engine storage.

Just picked up a Chevy big block I plan on using for a D2 project. The motor is complete and runs, any advice on storing it? It may be on a stand for a while. I'd like to do as thorough and professional a job in storing it as possible. What would the pros do in this situation?
