The character is curving, unlike the "R". Appears to be a "B"

Can anyone decipher the rest of it? It came in my 71 nova ss and I was trying to figure out if it was original to the car.

If its a leaf spring rear end than it appears to be a 3.07 open for a Nova.

CRG shows a BR axle is a 3.07 with Positraction. http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#AxleCodes
After 1969 axle codes usually had a three letter identification, like CBR instead of just BR.
