My 69 CJ Mustang is running hot, and the stock E C80EC fan clutch isn't as tight as it should be when cold. Anyone know of a good replacement product that doesn't have the slotted holes on the water pump mount?
Thanks for any help guys. |

Geez Kevin, it's ashamed that some ford guy hijacked your username. Wow, what a trip, a fellow like you asking about a ford that you own. Like that would ever happen!!!!

Sam -
I fell down and hit my head !!!! It's a 35K mile 69 original/unrestored CJ Mustang, and I fell in love. Now need to get it to take a little PHX heat.. PS. Ford's have a 427/425 too ! |

Why not get the clutch rebuilt?

Or, better yet, put a Chevy behind the fan and put a "CAUTION FAN" sticker on the shroud!

The rebuilder I used recently raised his price to $450.00. Others seem to have a long wait, thought i'd try to buy a new clutch that looks close, and save the original to send out later.

Most Ford Eaton clutches look visually the same. Some of the lower performance clutches look like dead ringers with different part numbers and can be had for much less $$$

A very early 69 could have a C80E-C as original equip which is used in conjunction with the C80E-B Fan. It is on 3.00" center spacing and the Hayden 2711 is perfect fit. They are 39.95 at most parts stores. I get then at Kragen/O'Reilly. The original app is a 427 Corvette if I remember correctly.
Most 69 CJ non SCJ would use the C9ZE-E Clutch and Fan which in 3.25 center spacing. The Hayden 2765 is a perfect fit. Hope that helps Kerry |
