'70 Chevelle inside window felts
How were the window felts attached to the inside door panel and rear quarter panel trim? Any pictures plus a picture of an original quarter panel interior trim would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: '70 Chevelle inside window felts
They were held on with 1/2" staples originally.
On the rears,a phillips head screw is used to fasten the beginning down also, near the windlace. I can't share a photo of the front door panel felts,as they drop down a good 1/2" or so and are difficult to see once on the car,but they are similar to the rear. |

----If you are using the original panels and only replacing the windlace you can carefully drill holes in the same place as the panels and make your own staples with wire. Works good!.....Bill S

Re: '70 Chevelle inside window felts
Thanks guys. I can't get the window crank handle off the passenger side rear. The clip is not on it for removal so I'm guessing the original restorer epoxied the handle onto the stud. Any ideas on how to get it off?

Try warming up the connection end of the crank handle with a hair dryer set on high, while working it back & forth.
If you don't care about the handle and interior panel, use a torch. |

Re: '70 Chevelle inside window felts
Thanks Rick. I have spare original handle cranks and the panel is a repro from 90's so I don't care if I damage them. Frustrating as heck!
