Default Maple Syrup???

I know this has nothing to do with cars. LOL!
I was just wondering if we have any maple syrup people on the forum. My brother and I have a small back yard set-up with a small 2x4 in size evaporator. We usually make about 11-13 gallons of real maple syrup. We tapped 90 trees this year. This past weekend we made 3.5 gallons. Just another chore for the busy work week. LOL!

Just getting started.

We moved into our new place back in October, so we've been reading up but haven't actually purchased any materials yet.

It's on the list of things to do...

Found this thread while looking for something else, so I may as well report out:

We tapped 10 trees and ended up with about 20 gallons of sap, so reducing it down netted about 3 pints of the good stuff.

Very strange season this year, I'm told, because of the warm weather. Sap only ran for about a week or 10 days here, so I think we did pretty good for our first time.

Wow thats all it ran in Michigan, just 10 days? We tapped our trees president day weekend, a total of 90 4 gallon buckets. Boiled every weekend after for three weeks and ended up with 13.5 gallons of syrup. Thats roughly 550 gallons of sap collected. It was a very good year here in NY for Maple syrup.
