1966 Buick Skylark con vin
I will be going to look at a 1966 Skylark project soon,(all apart). Can anyone tell me if it would have a con vin, and where to look? Thanks, - Dale.

Re: 1966 Buick Skylark con vin
I will certainly defer to others that may be more knowledgable, but my best guess is that 1966 was before CON VIN's came into use.

Re: 1966 Buick Skylark con vin
I know nothing specific of what was happening w/ the Buicks either but just being a '66 GM A-Body would suspect the higher hp engines may've included vehicle specific digits even if the standard engines did not?.

Re: 1966 Buick Skylark con vin
I had a 1966 GS convertible with a partial VIN stamping on the block.

Re: 1966 Buick Skylark con vin
In my first post in this thread, I meant that it was my opinion that there might not be a CON VIN on the body or the frame of the car. I am very aware that they were using them on at least some engines (and possibly even transmissions) in 66.

If I get to look at it(it may be already gone), I will report back what I see. It does have the original engine with it. Thanks for everyones input. - Dale
