Default 30 Years Ago Today

I remember how everyone at school was freaking out in the halls..

God that was a true underdog story.

I was explaining that story to my 10 year old son this past week. I was his age when they won in 1980. Yes a great story for the ages. Great win last night vs. the Canadian team. They had to have out-shot us 10:1? Great game to watch.

canada outshot US 45 -22. It was an awsome game. I had the privilidge to attend. We should have had Luongo in goal. I predict Canada and USA will be on the ice together next Sunday for the game of the Century. Hosting the Olympics has been awsome.

Hockey is the best sport there is. This year has been so awesome with the Olympics, an awesome Winter Classic at Fenway, and the success of my LA Kings (I have waited so long!). It's going to be a great week of competition for the Gold!

Hat's off to our great neighbors to the North for a wonderful job of hosting!

My favorite part of the story, as told by Mike Eruzione, was the final words from the coach before the coach walked out of the locker room prior to the game with the Soviets. The coach stopped, turned back to the team, and said: "If you lose this game you'll take it to your f-ing graves." Turns around, then a pause, turns back to the team and just says, "Your f-ing graves."

Wow. Imagine hearing that under those circumstances!
