Remembering your brave flyers WWII
Somebody started a thread at Rods'n'Sods remembering your brave countrymen that flew from what is now our premier drag strip , some neat original footage in the youtube link in the first post ... thought you guys might like to see it .

Love stuff like this. I have located and push-pinned every WWII airfield in England and most in Scotland on my Google Earth. Must be a thousand yellow push-pins on there!
Image one, England and its WWII airfields with airfield names and flying units added by me. Look through the airfield names to see hundreds of yellow push-pins I added as I located each airfield: Image two, a little closer or "lower," over East Anglia: Lower still, with Raydon at top (P-51 Mustangs) and Boxted at bottom (P-47 Thunderbolts). Go to your own GE page to see WWII photos posted on each of these two airfields. I've undoubtedly missed a few but I'm still looking. |
