I have a set of otherwise nice Deluxe seat belts but the adjuster in every buckle is rusted up. Can I soak the buckles in Safest Rust Remover without risking damage to the webbing material?
Thanks, Tony |

You're safe. Just keep an eye on it and don't soak it too long (like over several days) or it sometimes loosens certain paints that are near the rusted area - in other words it works too good sometimes and gets to all the rusted metal whether it's under paint or out in the open.
BTW, I used the purple stuff cleaner on the belt fabric and it cleans them great. |

Thanks Steve, was hoping you'd reply. I took the belt covers off and have them partially freed up, but they could use a more thorough de-rusting. Will report back in a few days.

Worked amazingly well. Only problem is I don't know how to keep the slider bar from rusting back up. Any thoughts?

Some oil should do the trick. It's not like it's going to go through another 40 years of daily driver abuse and get the chance to rust again.

![]() L3-12 Gunk/Radiator Specialties. Doesn't burn, doesn't stink. Has kept clean, bare steel parts rust free in my basement for at least the last 15 years. Takes a few days to dry, but doesn't leave a noticable film. http://www.gunk.com/CAT_L312.asp
