A local car show to benefit a young family who lost their Dad last year. One of our members walks off with tall trophy.


I seem to gravitate towards the flames.

The raffle ticket said "SS clone" it had an automatic. At least I'm sure it's a 69 Camaro!

The unpainted carbon fiber hood really looked cool



And the winner is.......... Jim Mulvey



He told me he is taking his camaro out to a Michagan track next week and will turn a few laps with our beloved Charlie.











Jim also had his (NASCAR Legal?)Ford at the show.

I am not sure if this Shelby was doing laps in the dirt parking lot or it is a nice barn find. Either way, the unwashed paint just added to a very original looking hot rod!!







I thought I would be a sport a get a good picture of the "for sale" sign.

Time was you could roll the race cars off the trailers at Westhampton dragway, now us LI'ers have nothing. Almost had a nice 5000 ft + runway, ex Navy F14 Tomcat assembly plant turn into a motorsports park, but noooooooooo, they rather build an indoor ski slope (I'm serious) on the property. And they wonder why so many kids die street racing around here

Don't get me started on the ski slope. What a waste of a perfectly good runway.
