Default Wanted: Nostolgic/Gasser from 30',40's,50's

Looking for an old school drag raced gasser with name, finished or unrestored. I'm from around US 30 dragstrip in NW Indiana and some names were No Big Thing, Tuff Rabbit, Shake Rattle and Run, Intruder. And some old pictures to help with restoration. Chevy or early Ford. With or without motor.

Richard Wies on the site had one for sale from your area awhile ago. Not sure if it sold, and, I can't remember his site name. Any old race car with a "name" won't be cheap.

Thanks If you remember the site let me know. I found a 57 w/straight axle from the NY area called 'Mr. Freeze' and the guy wants 10k with no motor & trans but alot of old pictures. Just want to keep looking for a little while longer. You know as soon as you buy something another comes along just a little better. At least thats usually my luck.

My advice is to keep an eye out for a locally owned and campaigned retired drag car from one of the larger cities in the country. That will save you a lot of money over a "famous name" car and in my opinion, they're every bit as cool. It seems that back in the Sixities and Seventies, almost every small gas station had some kind of drag car they'd sponsor and race on the weekends. I almost get tired of seeing the heavily photographed cars from back then over and over, and I really enjoy seeing pictures of the "little guys" that raced back then that had families and regular jobs where they couldn't tour the country, but just raced locally.

"No Big Thing" I believe was a vespa. What a wild ride. Not sure the year, but it had a 427 and would do a wheel stand as long as the driver wanted to. I heard was very dangerous to race. I heard it was still around but not racing. Trying to get more info on it.
