Wow!... Thanks guys for all the tips. Just what I wanted. Any more??
I tried some lacquer thinner today on my vent window. It made the glass look cleaner, but I still have most of the spots. I'll work on it a bit more this week when the sun comes out again after the rain and it's safe to open the garage door. The straight vinegar worked the same as the 50-50. -didn't touch the spots. Using steel wool on glass and chrome has always scared me, so I'll stay away from it until I see it work. I still have to contact a glass shop. Has anyone used something like CLR? You would have to make sure it only touches the glass. Thanks, Paul |

I have also used Maguires # 6 cut/polish wax with the buffer on slow speed, it works well and shines up the old glass in one shot.

The NAPA auto parts in hawaii had a product designed just for removing water spots from glass it came with a scotch brite type pad. I may still have some. I'll get you the name of the product if you'd like.

Spend the money ($15 or so) on a Mothers Clay Bar kit and do your windows Paul... Unless the spots are perminatly etched in the glass it will work!!
