the firewall on my 69 Z28. It has a late build of November of 69. See the hole above the fuse box hole for the ZL2 ducted hood and the hole below the fuse box hole for the factory tach. Both are stamped holes and not drilled holes. My car has no console or console gauges. I hope this helps!

LA cars usually have stripe color over spray on the firewall if you scrape some of that black paint off there should be stripe color on the cowl top and down the firewall, obviously if the stripes were black it is more difficult to discern.

The LA cars I have seen also have the color in numerical code vs color written, I assume this is because they built different car lines in LA and some colors were coded the same yet carried different names?

true ^

That is the easy way to determine the 1st gen "real" Z28's / Z-11/10 cars as long as no one has removed (stripped / sand blasted) the paint off the top of the cowl

as shown in the above pics, Van Nuys painted the entire upper cowl in strip color
