I'd love to see a better shot of the hood and trunk lid.

Very Cool

I'll get better pics tomorrow night assuming the weather holds out and I get her out to a local cruise. In the meantime, here are two I just took in the garage.

And here's a pic of the trunk.

For the one who asked about who did this paint job... it was originally done by the second owner, who bought this back in 1970 from an insurance company, a recovered stolen car, minus motor, trans and wheels. The most impressive thing about the ribbons is the fact that he painted them into the seams of the fenders and quarters.

He sold it in the late 70's to the third owner. At some point he had it stored too close to a heater, and ended up ruining the paint. He took it in to a local body shop known for awesome work to have them duplicate the exact ribbon paint scheme. They left the original ribbons in the seams and painted them back on the car as close as they could. You can tell the shades of some of the ribbons are a bit different than the original painter's work.

Although this is far from my favorite color, and the interesting ribbon scheme wouldn't be my first (or second) choice, I just can't touch it. Ever since I've known this car (since 1995), this is how its looked. Its a personality that I'd hate to change.

And by the way, to all of you who posted your appreciation and congrats... thank you all! Not even a week ago, I had NO intentions of buying this. I also had a bit of buyers remorse once I handed over the sum of cash... I've been trying to get out of debt lately, and this deal certainly doesn't help. But after seeing three pages of posts, I get the feeling that I made the correct choice in buying this.

I would rip that whole car apart looking for a build sheet.

That would be your winning lottery ticket
good luck
