This has to be one of favorite pictures in this thread! I can imagine this guy today, telling his kids how he was king of the dragstrip back then, one of the most feared street racers around, his wild ride had dual hood scoops because the engine was so big, yet he can't recall what kind of car it was, maybe it was some special prototype or something....it was a beast....

And the kids think, "Dad must have had an LS6 Chevelle, or a Hemi Cuda, an L-88 Corvette, maybe even a ZL-1 Camaro...."

And then the kids found this photo of their dad's hot rod.

i found a very cool Flicker link yesterday, with vintage street scenes from mostly Calif. incl, SF and LA but some from back east and a few from over seas incl the Pacific and France...
worth some time...
(hope the link works... Flicker is less than user or link friendly)
