Will it fit..Yes.
Is it a vintage part to our cars..No.
It's a much later variation of the original design..a new world release if you will.Notice there are 8 digits in the number too,as opposed to the original 6 or 7 used back in the day.
It's original assigned accessory number was #993965.It was eventually superceded by your number to accomadate ALL the GM vehicles later on.Being an underhood lamp,I would imagine it's overall design & harness are more modernly upgraded to adapt,compared to the original crude design when it was in it's infancy.
