Default Re: Smog pump

That's a 68 pump. The assembly stamp looks like 3881Y. Is there a number in front of the 3? the 38 is part of the julian date code. The second 8 is for 68. The relief valve was used on pumps on the BB and Z28 engines. The plastic plug in the relief valve is a wierd color. I have seen black and green. Check the mounting holes. The pump should mount with the relief valve on top. The lower hole should be unthreaded to pivot. The upper hole should be threaded to adjust the belt tension. Jerry's 67-68 Z book has some info on these pumps. Hope this helps.
