Rick, you should buy it and restore it! Looks like a nice original car. How many of these do you think were produced? What would be the value once restored?

Paul

The problem is I thought I'd be Mr. Smart Muscle Car Guy and get ahead of the curve a few months back so I bought a number of cars as well as a ton of parts. I've got some real cool stuff but not enough jack.

I tried to trade Roy one of my 69 rollers, a set of 074 heads, a brand new broom + 11.00 for the Pacer but he just wouldn't go for it, what a loser.

Seriously, I've heard production numbers of any where from 100 to 300 L78 Pace Cars, maybe 5+ unrestored?

I've seen a couple of frame off L78's being offered in the 150-170K range

Saw this car at the Houston Autorama this past weekend with a FOR SAlE sign on it. A Survivor that is tired. Would need a complete restoration in my opinon. The block apears to have been decked, so it's questionable.

It says the VIN is still there though. If there is a Protect-O-Plate or other L-78 docs, that price is very cheap for that car. One of the best looking cars Chevrolet ever made and throw in factory L-78 status....WOW!

MD 396---The car was in my booth at the show and was only for sale if someone asked, it did not have a for sale sign on it, the ZL1 69 next to it did. I stated in my first post that the block had been decked and that the Vin # and dates are good and correct. The car has been stored since the mid 80's But I think "questionable" is a lot to say for someone not knowing anything about the car or it's previous owners or past. But thanks for your positive comments!
