Joe,

Standard SS package did incluce the trim rings, however the original owner chose not to have them. If one could order -- paint, then asking to not install trim rings on any car...would be a no brainer.... JMO.

Were the rings even installed on the SS wheels from the factory, or were they tossed in the car for the dealer to install? Might have just been a matter of telling the dealer "Hey, I don't want trim rings on it" rather than actually ordering anything special from GM. I love frost green btw!

If you are talking about the one in the Nickey Display....It's a 8,000 Mile original car that Stefano has for Sale for $65,000

My trim rings came stacked in the trunk with brown waffle paper between them. When my car came in, I asked Herb Fox to do NOTHING to the car as far as clean-up. They did the dealer inspection but left the trim rings in the trunk and the window sticker in place. They did, however, polish it and put it in the showroom for a couple of days before I had a chance to get there for the pick up.

Mike....I tend to agree with you....none of us were obviously there in 1968 (except for Mr Cumby)...but, your explanation would have been the right thing to do.

Dennis....you were luckily enough to have lived in.... what we only dream about. Your explanation makes perfect sense. Perhaps this was standard procedure back in the day.

When Benny and Sam arrived to the show they were not happy campers, due to a small mishap with a nut that somehow loosened off the shifter....a normal occurance a Muncie Shifter. Got to use Lock-Tight...

I helped Benny get in touch with "Crash"...Eric Davidson who saved the day.

A Big Thanks to Eric..."Crash"

Eric....not only brought the nut....he brought the entire assembly. Eric is a true car guy....that is always willing to help.
