Advertising sells a lot of stuff that most people don't really need. There are a lot of young guys out there that don't have a lot of extra money to spend. I hate seeing them getting sucked in to spending a lot of money that really needs to be spent elsewhere on their cars. Unless yu have some radical engine setup, factory stuff will do the job. It has always worked for me.

My Nova with the 427 had a new 4 row from NNN. It runs 195 going down the road, but if it idles for 20 mins, the temp will creep up to 220-230. Stock shroud, deraile fan, stock pullys, 190 stat, stock pump, rad opening enlarged. Timing and jetting is dead nuts on, dialed in on the dyno. I talked to Don at Alumatech about the temp problem. He figured the aluminun would drop the temp by about 20 degrees. I spent close to 600 for his radiator. No change at all. So I would say the factory one will work just fine in your application.
