Very nice car, but he states that it was made to "represent" a Berger COPO. It's a 10C car, and the last documented Berger was delivered on June 2, 1969.
It is a very nice car, but I would be willing to bet that he doesn't get his reserve. By saying "restored as" in the first sentence of the ad he seems to be admitting--vaguely--that the car is a clone. |

There is a new Chevy dealership opening up in northeast philly that has a silver 69 COPO
In the show room I talked to the owner for a minute and he said it has all the paper saying it is the real deal I did not look at it to closely so I do not know if it is real or a clone He is asking 150.000 for it also has a 69 Z-28 that he also claims as the real deal asking 75.000.00 for that one |

Although the initial listing was somewhat misleading and his answers to questions a bit tangled, the seller has included some pretty blatant statements...
"...The car is a numbers matching recreation COPO with the proper casting dates on engine and transmission..." "...The original motor is unknown (other than V8). The numbers on the block match the vin of the vehicle. The number in front of the passenger side head on the block is T1006MN in 3/16" stamp which is correct. The number stamped above and to the right of the oil filter is 19N699611 in a 1/8" stamp which is correct..." "...With these numbers it could pass for a COPO but it is a recreation..." So with all that in mind, I like the car although with what it truly is would personally prefer it existed minus the admitted so-called 'correct' stampings.. ![]() ~ Pete |
