I work on the Texas-Mexico boarder two days per month. It IS Mexico down there with the primary language being Spanish, or garbage Spanish. The area is swamped with attorneys that sue business to death on behalf of injured or perceived injured people, it's like the lottery for folks who have nothing. The judges, juries and lawyers are all from Mexico or of Mexican descent and the payouts are generous to stay out of court or catastrophic if it does end up in court. Hidalgo County is the worst, if you get sued there, it's not if you pay, it's how much you pay. Medical Malpractice suits are rampant, it's to the point that many doctors will not practice in South Texas because of the lawsuit abuse.
