Sharpton used to preach at Freddies Fashion Mart from time to time.

The rev. Jackson preaches at the local home for unwed mothers.

What he said following the tattoo statement is not true and offensive. Personally I feel the whole victimization scheme has been somewhat over blown by just about everyone. But what he said about these innocent girls was wrong and NOT true. I posted Jason Whitlok like because it made a lot of sense to me ( read it). What Imus said was wrong, but his punishment doesn't fit the crime, and he did apologize...IMHO

And don't mistake my defense of the girls for supporting the Rev's. They like to stir the pot, and won't apologize anytime soon to the Duke players. They have a long history of a double standard.

BOTH of the commentators used the phrase *ho's* in their sentences. There was absolutely NOTHING racist about their comments, they may have been sexist comments, but they damm sure weren't racist comments.

I am not going to repeat it, but look at the whole sentence. You gotta be kidding me if you don't understand the whole quote. Also if you don't feel it is racist and sexist, then read this. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18081301/

But when you work "nappy" into the sentence, it most certainly spells racism.

You're comments are really not needed here... uncalled for indeed.

Imus has had a less than stellar career incident wise...He was on the air in Cleveland at both WHK and WGAR in the early 1970's and was a controversial jock then making tasteless comments and such....I don't believe this was the sole incident only the last straw for a radio station ready to clean house before they,CBS,turn it loose......Don't leave the garbage in the house when potential buyers walk thru...He wore out his welcome..

I would argue similarly. I personally do not believe this is the sole incident that got Imus fired but it inevitably pushed him over the edge.

[/ QUOTE ] Its all about $$$...Imus got fired solely because of this incident because up until then, no one threatened to pull advertising. He made the network almost 20M a year and as long as that was on the table they wouldnt fire him. Now that the advertisers threatened to leave they saw that 20M become a loss and made the decision all about the $$.....again, Imus will make 10 times the money at Sirius and msnbc will suffer finacially because no one will watch the new show. Maybe they can get Rosie Odonell to take his place.

I was not aware *nappy* was a slang phrase in that pretense. I will withdraw my post.

I appears my edit time has expired, so I can't do it now.
