I am not sure where these estimates come up with the number of big block pace cars made a registry I created in the 70's had ~ 80 cars and ~ 20% were big blocks I personally owned 4 big block (see cover of Chevroland Nues from the late 70's) Z11 pace cars and I think any specualtion at 300 or 500 is on the conservative side ymmv
