Be VERY careful on this one. I bought a very similar item, was supposed to be a L78 convert, firewall, TTag, Orig Block.

What I got was a very good fake trim tag, a restamped motor, a FAKE VIN TAG and a fake piece of metal with a FAKE convin stamped. Not the whole firewall that was pictured in the ebay ad.

After some investiagtion, this guy has at least two ebay ID's and shows north Mississippi on one, and south Tennessee on the other. Arkansas is a little close to those and this is his M.0.!

Heed the advice that I did not take!

Rich

OK,
Definately him. I just tried to bid on the auction, and got this:

"Transaction Blocked Unfortunately, this seller has decided that you are not permitted to bid on their listings. You may contact the seller via the Ask Seller Questions feature if you want additional details.
Please note: You may not use other eBay accounts to bid on this seller's listings. Doing so may result in your indefinite suspension from eBay. "

What a scumbag! Three ebay ID's in three different states!

Lynn,
I'd help (press charges, travel up there for court). I know that the chance of ever recovering any $$ is slim, even with a judgement. If you handle the legal end, and if one of the tag experts (Kurt, CRG, Jonsey?) are willing to testify, I'll go the whole way and foot my own expenses.

I chose not to sue him myself as I got 2,000 back, and 7,000 is not enough to sue over (after legal fees, and a judgement that I could prob. never collect on). If by some chance we won and we could collect, I'd be happy to pay whatever legal fees out of that judgement, up to the judgement total amount.

This would be worth my time just to shut this scumbag down!

The guy must have had a crystal ball to think to put a firewall into storage 29 years ago

What good is the car anyways with out paper work?? Chevelles dont have anything denoting a LS6 option or even an SS option, You could get some guy to stamp some motors find some rusty Malibu's and pull this scam off all day long if people are dumb enough to bid. That motor is worth alittle if it has legit parts and castings

Man this new ebay system sucks. You cannot even email the buyer and warn them. Someone's gonna get stuck real bad.

Is there anything on the trim tag or in the vin that would tell you it's a convertable?

How do you get "blocked" from bidding?

Is this because of a previous transaction with this seller?

Why hasnt the Ebay police picked up that this is NOT a car and actually an auto "PART" and is incorrectly listed.

Dont cars have wheels and doors and stuff like that?

This is not a car. Complain to Ebay!! Shut this guy down!!
