I believe most SS454 Chevelles, in `70 at least, came with the Malibu door emblems. There are exceptions I think.

Thanks Jeff, I love to see the forgotten iron. As far as the Malibu door emblems. My brothers (2) LS-6's have, SS emblems on the Baltimore car and Malibu emblems on the Atlanta car. My brother was thinking of putting SS emblems on the Atlanta car to avoid all the banter from people at the car shows telling him that the car must be fake and the fact both cars are No stripe coul hood cars. I think I have him talked into putting the Malibu emblems on. Have to start educating the people sooner or later.

I would agree that most SS454 Chevelles seem to have the Malibu emblems on the door panels. As I recall the buildsheet on the 454's did not direct the line workers to uses the "SS" the door panel emblems like the 396 cars.

My Baltimore LS6 has the SS door emblems.Back to this car- has the time come where one like this is still worth the cost of a proper restoration? Obviously in it's present condition it's authenticity is unquestionable, but once restored, with lack of "tissue",and a couple of owners(and a 100k later)how, do you validate it? Who will spend that type of money on an undocumented car(even with fake docs.) Since " only original once" cars are en vougue maybe you just clean this up like previously mentioned and oogle over it for the relic it is.

An extremely well photo/video documented restoration would keep it real. Plus there is probably 90 buildsheets in it to find.

Soaking it in vat of WD-40? 36 years of 80% humidity with those floorboards and I'm gettin flashbacks to Fred Flintstone's ABS system on his coupe..

Not flamin ya Jeff the car is cool as heck! Could probably count on one hand how many LS6's got delivered to the islands

Rick you would be surprised what can be done with very little harm to what remains...
