"Is the concern the tag or if the car is a real SS? On a 1966 Chevelle the VIN will tell you if it's a true SS car. It won't tell you engine size but will tell you if it's a Super Sport".....................................A friend looked at a 67 "ss" at a swap meet a few months ago that had a "SS" vin tag and trim tag to match.. the original non SS vin tag was in the glove box,the sequential vin ending was the same on both tags,probably so there would be no duplicate car to it?? .So it seems you need to worry about more than simply color changes nowadays..
