[ QUOTE ] The reason many cars didn't sell is because this is mainly a reserve auction. Most of the cars have a set reserve. Many of the car owners were expecting a record sale price for each and everyone of their vehicles. Many record selling prices were set and many by dealers who expect to be reselling the cars at a profit. It was one of the best gatherings of Vintage Muscle I have ever experienced. The Drag'in Snake Sold for appox $1.5mm or so A Mr Norm's Super Stock '64 Hemi sold at $350,000 or so. Silver Cross Ram Z28 $150,000.00 or so. We sold a few cars as well as many of the bikes. Many thanks to all who helped out and stopped by to visit, especially Bob Ashton who naively volunteered to get in the cars on a 90 degree and 100% humidity day and drive them across the block for us [/ QUOTE ] Was it hot in those cars? I never noticed! |

[ QUOTE ] Last I saw,John O.'s Red 68 Gibb Nova was bid to 235K,with a No Sale. He literally ran out of gas and needed to push it on stage.. He got 340K for the his meticulously restored 69 RG Yenko Camaro. [/ QUOTE ] Wow! A 69 Yenko Camaro sold for $340K? That's strong money. Was there anything special about this Gibb Nova like a 427 or was it the stock L78?

So, the RG sells for 340K & buyer pays 5% (17,000) he actually pays $357K. Seller pays 6% (20,400) and nets $319,600. Mecum makes $37,400 For doing what? |

Mecum was paid the money for bringing the buyer and seller together. He had to spend a ton on ads, the venue, employees etc. Selling a car is not that easy. |

Not siding with anyone, but Danas' tent rental fee for this event alone had to be more then most make here in a year. Excluding Belair if you're commutin to Deerfield. |

Wow, absolutely freakin ironic! The little ole red Deuce brings more money than "Motion" Camaro's and "Harrell" Novas. Boy oh boy, just think, the car could have been had 2 years ago for only $50G. I think seeing that made my week. And to think "the car is nice but not that nice" and it don't have the original motor" and "run them Deuce values up fellas!", "it's just a small block", and my favorite, "the Antiques road show Deuce." The seller is laughing all the way to the bank!! Oh yeah one more totally ironic thing. Both buyers on my car were BOTH "outsiders." No one from any known website ponied up for it. Interesting.

I love Motion cars but it doesn't seem that the auction block is a good venue for them...
