The "Z" was not always found on the trim tag. Not sure when the cut off was but you will find the tag with the "Z" and without. Believe end of April was the cut off. The tag is correct.

Hmmm...never knew that.Mine was built 04D (last wk of April) and it does have the "Z28.10" designation for Black stripes.

Interesting that the firebird line was introduced with the large spoiler and the camaro had to be ordered as a copo. My understanding is the the larger spoiler was designed by the chevrolet group, but rejected and the pontiac group introduced it as an rpo. Obviously the ends are different. Can anyone confirm this.

I thought the 70 birds could not be ordered with a spoiler at all, unless you got the trans am?
