Default Re: More Aircraft

back in the day before the FAA started cracking down...they would fly between the two tallest buildings in downtown Seattle..I have great pics of the guys saluting us as they would go by, they would dog fight around the blds for fun...I have some really good pics somewhere...talk about get pumped up!!!

they dug or bld as it was on the outside of town and they would use it as a turning point to set up for a pass...

nothing like the smell of jet fuel, man they used to get really close to us like a 100yds, one cat came straight at us one time, keep in mind we are 63 stories up...at the last second he pulls up and goes straight up from us and I mean just about outa sight. reverses direction and comes back down and straight away from us, I swear he was on the exact trail up and down to the inch!!! and the jet wash was very strong you had to grab something or you were going down, now that guy could fly!!!

I think I am going this year as my buddy is Chief may be able to get some pics, but they dont fly by tight like they used to...

Slightly different pace. Empty 747-400 doing treetop (ok, a few hundred feet) passea at the Goodwood Historic Races to commemorate 100 yrs of Rolls-Royce. It's amazing how agile these big fellas are. Too bad they have to be flown like buses when we're on board.

If anyone has seen the footage of the first 707 test flights you will agree. The test pilot was fired for doing a barrel roll in one. This footage was seen on the cable series "Wings" several years ago. Who would think an airliner could do a slow roll.

Great shot Jeff!

Rick,

I did see that footage some years ago on wings as well.
Doing a barrel roll in a fighter is one thing, doing one
in a 707 is a hell of a lot trickier. BTW, if you goof,
you got nowhere to go but the scene of the crash.

That's awesome stuff Rick.

Now, Mr. Eaton...let's not be flying that way in the big jets, ya hear?
