Here's the first Nickey 427 swap into a '67 SS 350 Camaro, overseen by Dick Harrell. Note the stock exhaust manifolds.
![]() You never know, maybe the "time capsule" car's owner couldn't afford headers after ponying up for the L78 or L72 (whatever it is). Maybe he wanted an easy bolt-up swap and kept the manifolds? Anything's possible. Back in those days such cars were often daily drivers and it's not hard to imagine the owner wanting to keep it as simple as possible and keeping the iron manifolds in place. ![]() |
