I find this post EXTREMELY interesting reading with the very detailed description and the Southern drawl! You've certainly peaked some interest!

You say the engine was (is?) in the '55, but in the next post you say the engine didn't get sold with the car (presumably the COPO Camaro) and gathered dust in a barn. I'm confused, please elaborate on your story.

I would guess a couple of photos, especially of that "some sort of VIN" would help folks here understand just exactly what it is you have.
